The City of Checotah City Hall will be opening at 9am on Wednesday January 28th. Thank you and be safe.

City of Checotah City Hall's lobby will not open till noon tomorrow Tuesday January 27th. Phone lines will be open at 9am but for public salt the lobby will not open till Noon. If you need any assistance or questions please call the City Hall starting at 9am. Thank You!

We will be closing the Warming Center at the Community Building. If you have no electricity and you are needing a place to stay please contact the Checotah PD 918-473-4555 and they will get you some help. Thank you and stay safe out there.

City of Checotah is prepared for the winter blast coming in this evening! Please stay in if you don't have to be out and if you see a City truck out sanding or clearing streets please stay back at a safe distance. Thank you and have a safe weekend.

Winter Weather tips from the City of Checotah! Be prepared for the upcoming Winter Blast!

The City of Checotah will provide a warming shelter that will be located at the Checotah Community Center. The shelter will be open this Friday January 23rd at noon and stay open till Monday January 26th until noon. No cots will be provided. If you have any questions please call City Hall at 9184735411. Due to dropping humidity and increasing winds, please do not burn and if you see smoke, please report it immediately. Thank you!

GFL formally Sue's Recycling has decided that they will no longer take drop off payments through the City of Checotah. So please do not bring your trash bill to City Hall we will not be able to take them anymore. Thank you.

City of Checotah will be operating under new hours beginning January 2nd.

The City of Checotah would like to offer its condolences to the family of Earnest "Ernie" Myers who faithfully served the City of Checotah and Ward 1 as a City Councilman from 2009-2023. Ernie was voted Vice Mayor for the City of Checotah by his fellow Councilmen in which he fulfilled this role from 2015-2023. Ernie was well respected among his peers and fellow Councilmen. He was a great asset to the City during his time in office. He truly had a heart for his community. He will be greatly missed.

A reminder that Santa will be at Checotah City Hall today Dec 22nd from 2pm to 4pm. Bring the kids by to meet and talk with Santa!

Water has been restored to the Northwest side of town. If you have any issues please contact the Police Department and they will get in contact with the Water Department! Thank you for your patience!

Northwest side of Checotah will experience low to no water pressure over the next couple of hours to repair a water leak. They plan to have the water back on by 6pm. Thank you for your patience!

We are excited to announce Santa will be joining us at City Hall here in Checotah on Monday December 22nd from 2 to 4pm! Bring the kids by the City Hall to visit with Santa!

There will be little to no pressure for those on the NE side of Checotah while the water department repairs a leak. They expect to have it back up and fixed by noon. Thank you for your patience!

We want to let everyone know that over the next three days there will be a lot of police traffic and sirens blaring in town. Shop with a Cop is an annual event that benefits the youth of McIntosh county! Please be patient with the traffic and extra noise, it's for a Great cause. You will see lots of police and emergency vehicles at Walmart over these next three days also!
