With more storms expected we have prepared to open the shelter. Storm shelter is located at the Checotah Jr High School should anyone need to take cover over night. It is the tan building north of Truman Dixon Gym.

Citywide Trash off starts today Monday April 21st through Friday April 25th. Rolloff Dumpsters will be set at the City Water Barn at 721 NW Main from 8am till 3pm daily! Must have a proof of address or current water bill. There will be no one to unload you must do it yourself. No hazards are allowed.

Mayor Tarkington would like to thank the City Council for approving the projects that have impacted the water infrastructure within the City of Checotah. These projects have created better water quality and will provide the solution to this issue. The attached notice is required to be given to the public when the City fails a TTHM test. The failed test was done in 2024. The current 2025 test show that this issue is resolved.
