The City of Checotah was recently selected by OU's Institute for Quality Communities (IQC) as this semester's project for its graduate students in the Gibbs College of Architecture. Students will be in town Wednesday & Thursday for an initial visit and community meeting (Wednesday @ 6:00 PM, City Hall) to gather input and discuss potential projects, with particular emphasis on downtown beautification. The public is invited, and a special invitation is extended to downtown business owners. We want to get your thoughts and hear your ideas. Anyone with questions can feel free to call Councilman Jay Hayes at (918) 617-5987. This was in last week's edition of the McIntosh County Democrat in case you missed it. Come on out. And if you see us touring college students around town, please make them feel welcome.
