The public hearing scheduled for tonight 1-9-2025 and the Planning and Zoning and Board of Adjustments meetings have been cancelled due to inclement weather. They are rescheduled for January 16, 2025 at 5:30.

Update for warming shelter located at 611 N Broadway in Checotah.
We will be opening the warming station to the public from 1:00pm today 1/9/25. It will be open 24/7 until the weather improves.

Warming Center will be open at 611 N Broadway Checotah community center from 6pm till 8am. Please Help us get the message out to those that might not have social media. Help by checking on elderly neighbors. You can call Checotah PD in the evenings with any issues that need attention. They will get ahold of someone to assist you with your need. We will post a video with some water tips this afternoon. Please stay out of the cold and in a warm place as much as possible during these low temp days.

City of Checotah will open a Warming Center at the Checotah Community Bldg at 611 N Broadway from 6pm till 9am Tuesday Morning. We will do the same on Tuesday! Please let anyone know that might need a warm place to stay. No Pets allowed!

The City of Checotah will have a water line project starting today. Contractors will be in the area making preparations on the NE side of town. We will update as progress takes place.

The City of Checotah is experiencing a 4" water line break on the West side of town. Customers on the west side may experience little to no water during this time. Estimated time of repair is 3 hours.

Broadway from Layfaette to The City Hall will be shut down at 4pm today for the Christmas Parade tonight at 7pm. No cars will be allowed downtown. Bring a chair and come enjoy the parade. Food trucks will be setup downtown tonight!
