Tonight the Checotah Community Design meeting with the OU landscape Architecture students will be from 6:30 to 8:30pm at 611 N. Broadway, at the Checotah Community Center. All are invited. There will be a Warming Shelter at City Hall starting February 18th at 9:00am to February 21st at 5:00pm. Do to the upcoming weather City Hall will be open for business on February 18th through February 21st from 9:00am to 5:00pm. There is a water leak on NW 1st St. Residents on the NW side of town will experience little to no water. Repairs will take up to 3 hours. Crews are actively working on this situation.
North Ave from Northwest 2nd to Northwest 5th will be closed for gas line repairs starting tomorrow Jan 30th. Make plans for alternate driving routes!

Paul Carr drive will be closed for repairs from Gentry to McDonald's drive on Tuesday Jan 28th 10am till Wednesday Jan 29th. It will reopen at 5pm on the 29th.

The City of Checotah was recently selected by OU's Institute for Quality Communities (IQC) as this semester's project for its graduate students in the Gibbs College of Architecture. Students will be in town Wednesday & Thursday for an initial visit and community meeting (Wednesday @ 6:00 PM, City Hall) to gather input and discuss potential projects, with particular emphasis on downtown beautification. The public is invited, and a special invitation is extended to downtown business owners. We want to get your thoughts and hear your ideas. And if you see us touring college students around town, please make them feel welcome.
